A spiritual change is produced in us while we contemplate Christ”. I love this quote from the Pulpit Commentary.
As we behold Him, we become like Him.
2 Corinthians 3:18 says (in my simplified, paraphrased version) “And we, who contemplate (meditate on) the Lord, are being transformed into His image…”
This is amazing! Meditating on God will change your life!
When we pray (and I love prayer and I believe in prayer) our mind is engaged with OUR thoughts and with what WE want to say to God.
Our prayers are capped at the limit of our own thinking.
And often when we pray we forget to leave time for God to reply. He always has an answer to our questions and our prayers but how often do we make all our requests known to God and then go about the busyness of our day and not leave time for Him to give us the answer.
When we meditate on God we give Him time to give us the answers that we need. He does this by revealing Himself to us. He shows us who HE is and what He can do for us and in us.
Meditating on God gives God the opportunity to lift us beyond the level of our own thinking and open our spirit to receive revelation from Him that is beyond what we already know or can imagine; and to see God-possibilities. This is what changes and empowers our life. We see Him more clearly. We become like Him. He reminds us that His power is alive in us and that changes everything!
A revelation of Jesus is the key to a happy, successful life. The more revelation you have of Jesus, the happier and more successful your life will be.
It does not matter about your heritage, your history or your background. It’s not how long you have been a Christian, what opportunities you have been given or how educated you are… the key to a happy successful life is having a continually-growing revelation of Jesus.
The first and greatest revelation you ever have of Jesus is when you realize He is God and that you need Him as your saviour. But don’t let the revelation stop there – He has so much more to show you about Himself and what He can do in you and for you.
If you have something that needs changing in your life or you just want to live the best life you can, take some time to meditate on God and let Him show you who He is and what He can do in you and through you.
Grace and Peace!
