I’m sorry it has been a little while since I last posted. We have been working on a series on “How to find Stillness” in your meditation – how to stop all the noise and thoughts that bombard us, how to settle our minds and spirits and find stillness in our meditation with God. We plan to bring that to you very soon.
In the meantime I thought I would share with you this picture that I shared on Instagram recently.
“Don’t make God part of your life, make Him your whole life”
This is the secret to living a life of balance.
Most of us want to find balance in life. Life pulls in so many directions and sometimes, maybe even often, we find ourselves pulled in directions we don’t want to go.
I have found, like most things in God, opposites are often true; “the last shall be first”; “give and you will receive” and so on.
In the same way, even though it doesn’t seem to make sense, it is a spiritual truth that when you make God your whole life, you will find perfect balance.
When you think about Him day and night, when you are consumed by Him, when you can’t think about anything else but God, when nothing else matters but your love for God you will find that life begins to fall into place, peace comes and things begin to work out for good.
Maybe there is something you are desperately hoping and praying will work out for good and it’s all you can think about; maybe you are worried and stressed about it.
I know the feeling of desperately wanting something to work out a particular way – and yes, it is a good thing to pray. But since I have discovered the power of connecting with God through meditation I have learnt that there is a better way.
By all means we should pray for these things that we need but I have learnt not to become consumed by them. Often the more tightly we hold to something, the less likely it will happen – even when we pray. (because sometimes our prayers can become prayers of fear of it not happening instead of prayers of faith).
I have found the answer is to not become consumed by the thing we desire – not because it is wrong to desire it but because holding tightly to it won’t bring the answer. The answer is to let that thing go and be consumed with God instead.
Let it go. He knows what you need. He knows your heart’s desire. Don’t hold tight to those things – hold tight to God. Let them go as you look to Him, and see Him, and fall deeply in love with Him.
There is supernatural power in letting go that releases everything else you need into your life.
Matthew 6:33 says “Seek God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need”
I hope that this encouragement has been helpful for someone today. I would love to hear from you if it was.
Please stay posted for the series on “Finding Stillness” that will be out very soon. If you don’t already receive these messages via email, you can subscribe to have the series emailed directly to you.
Praying you have a blessed and peace-filled week!
